We are a network of high-quality, accredited music teachers, offering private home tuition.
All our tutors are active musicians and have performed and recorded with a wide array of artists such as David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan and ESKA, have worked on the West End and played at venues such as The Royal Festival Hall, Barbican and the Roundhouse and festivals including Glastonbury Festival, Reading and Leeds Festival and London Jazz Festival.
They also all hold a music degree or teaching qualification, have a vast amount of experience in teaching students of all ages and can provide a full DBS certificate on request.
London Music Tutors specialises in a personalised service and offer tuition in a number of instruments, including: guitar, piano, bass, ukulele, drums, singing, violin, clarinet, mandolin and banjo.
Our lessons are tailored to suit each individual student's needs, either simply for enjoyment and improvement or to meet specific goals or requirements. Our tutors have guided many guitar, piano, ukulele and bass players through their Rockschool, Trinity Rock and Pop, RGT and ABRSM graded music exams with fantastic results. Music lessons are also regularly used as skills evidence for the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Awards and to help gain entry into secondary schools.
Beginners, intermediate and advanced musicians are all welcome.

I had already had several failed attempts to learn guitar, but after my first lesson with John I was able to play a song which I enjoyed. "Inspiring and Encouraging"
""We are delighted with the progress Amy has helped our daughter to make with her clarinet - Grade 7 distinction with 30 marks out of 30 in one piece! She has also helped her achieve the position of principle first clarinet in the Northampton County Training Wind Orchestra. Amy makes lessons fun and is inspiring and encouraging. ""Bass lessons with Ed are relaxed and always interesting. They take place in a comfortable environment and we tend to look at different aspects of playing during each class - e.g slap technique and other exercises. He has helped me to obtain different tones, work on original bass lines and even adjusted the action on my bass. Reasonable rates, highly recommended!""

""After I moved to South London I was in need of guitar lessons and was lucky to stumble upon John. He's very patient (which would be great for beginners) and is willing to mentor you whether you simply want him to explain a particular song of your choosing or take you deep into theory, which is all really useful and explained logically. Very personable and can cater to many different styles of playing. Definitely worth looking into if you live Brockley or nearby!""

""After we moved to London from Paris, our son didn't want to continue piano any longer. We were lucky to meet Max who provided the perfect fit for Adrien. Our teenager was looking for songs to play that fitted his age and interests. ""John has been teaching music to my 5 year old son for only a few months and Sam can already play a few tunes on his own and read music sheets. I have been really impressed by how quickly he's been learning. John seems to have a special way to connect with children. ""When I decided to pick up the guitar again, I spoke to several teachers. John was the only one who didn't have a rigidly defined lesson programme - his approach was to find out what music I liked and what I wanted to learn, and to tailor his lessons to me. He is patient, flexible and good fun to learn with. In 9 months, my playing and musicality have improved no end. He even worked out how to play an obscure 35-year old folk song so he could teach it to me - now that's commitment.""

""Amy is both professional and friendly as a teacher. She has knack for explaining the areas and techniques needed to work on in an accessible way that means I can act on them immediately. Amy is also keen to keep my enthusiasm for and enjoyment of my instruments by recognising the styles of music that I enjoy playing.
