South Wimbledon Shorinji Kempo Dojo.
Shorinji Kempo is a Modern Japanese Martial Art. It was founded in 1947 by a Zen Buddhist Monk, as a way of improving war torn Japanese society. The three main benefits to individuals are: a Healthy Mind, a Healthy Body and Effective Self defence.
Shorinji Kempo includes both hard and soft techniques. The hard techniques GOHO include punches, kicks, strikes, blocks and dodges. The soft techniques include;grappling, locks, throws, pins and escapes. At a more advanced level both are used together making Shorinji Kempo well rounded and extremely effective. Classes also included Zazen Meditation, philosophy and a healing system similar to Shiatsu, called Saiho.
South Wimbledon Shorinji Kempo Dojo is a Member of the BSKF and IKA. Existing Kenshi and new students are welcome at every class.
