About Budd Budd Shirtmakers is a quintessentially British men's haberdashery store located in the heart of Piccadilly since 1910. The company is best known for its beautiful, bespoke shirts, hand cut by an expert team in its cutting room above the shop. As well as bespoke shirts, Budd offers an excellent Made to Measure service as well as Ready to Wear shirts for formal, dress and casual wear and a wide assortment of other men's' essentials.

The remarkable feature of this London institution is the sartorial knowledge and advice that its experienced shop staff and shirt cutters share with great enthusiasm.

It remains the only bespoke shirtmaker where your fitting is handled by your cutter. This ensures that your measurements and special requests are directly reflected on your very own bespoke pattern that will be kept under the cutting bench, to forevermore faithfully reflect your corporal evolution.

The company also has its own workrooms in Andover, Hampshire where a team of seamstresses diligently sew together each shirt. It is today one of only a handful of truly authentic English shirtmakers still remaining.

Budd carries shirtings and silks from Europe's finest mills, with a particular interest in Soyella cottons, cashmere blends, madder silks and our own distinct Budd stripe. The latter is woven exclusively for us to our own 1920s design and is available in five colours.

Beyond shirts, Budd is recognised as a purveyor of dresswear accessories, and in particular its waistcoats for black and white tie occasions, bows, bibbed shirts, gloves and studs. Nightwear is another specialty. Gowns, nightshirts and pyjamas are made for us in London, working to our specification in beautiful silk, Batiste cotton, linen and Cashmerello. Neckwear is taken care of by elegant scarves in silk paisleys and spots or the softest cashmere, and ties either woven or knitted, with a large complement of bow ties for a discerning look.

We are a gentlemen's haberdashery in the purest sense of the word. When it comes to the accouterments for fine tuning a wardrobe, we cover it all; from braces to pocket squares, sock suspenders to hogskin gloves, or stiff collars to Birdseye socks. We rigorously source from within the UK wherever we can and are experts in whatever we offer. Besides service, quality and provenance are paramount to the Budd experience, our expertise garnered thanks to long term staff, all trained within the company and passionate about what they do.
