An Alliance of scams

Glass studios and British Model Alliance are scams. They trick you to a test shoot, pressurize you for an over-prized portfolio, promise a model manager will link you with modeling jobs and all... If you pay, they'll keep sending you to more people who will keep asking you for more money to sign up here and there! Utter waste of time! Till now, over 8 months, my e-portfolio has not been updated as promised and You can't update your portfolio yourself!

Don't believe the reviews on feefo, they are fake

I was also "chosen" by one of the people there and booked an appointment which I had to pay £50 for "to make sure I'll attend" (completely ilegal btw). the makeup lady was so impatient and rude I decided to close my eyes and daydream. they don't tell you they want your money. They greet you super nicely and when you're done shooting pictures they ask you a ridiculous amount of money from £500-1,500 just to make a portfolio and put 5 photos on a website. I told them nobody ever asked me for money for a modeling job it was always the other way around and if I knew about this from the start I would never waste any body's time. From that moment to the way out I was completely ignored by everyone felt like a walk of shame only that you're being ignored for not paying them. You spend 4 hours taking pictures that you can't have at the end. Waste of time, energy and travel money!

Beware of scams

... when I asked the lady who 'selected' me whether they were a photography studio or a Modelling agency, she couldn' t really relpy. She kept changing her version. I should also mention that on the phone I was told that I didn' t need to purchase a portfolio from them. When I got there, it was a different story. Finally, The hair stylists do nothing to your hair, they use props, wigs and hats, the make-up artists do the same make up for everyone and the quality of the pictures seemed quite poor. No one was rejected on the day I was there, all the people I spoke to were selected. It must have been our lucky day!

Bewar of scams

I read a review of a mother who went to glass studios and got her boy signed up cor a BBC advert. She doesn' t mention which advert and who her boy is. She also states that she was told that she could get her own portfolio elsewhere. This is not my experience. They told me that I could only be 'chosen' if I purchased their portfolio. The pictures are on a memory stick, and you are asked to pay upfront. If you ask to think about it, they say that the pictures are deleted as soon as you leave. Why would they delete the pictures when you could think about it and buy them at a later date? Also, they select you for a test shoot, no one mentios the fact that you need to purchase a portfolio, until the end of the day. They ask you to pay a £. 50 deposit, in order to make the appointment for the shoot. Noone who is looking to hire will ask you for money for your interview. The lady who 'selected' me first said that they were a photography studio, then that she was working for The BMA...

Beware of test shoot scam

I was invited for a test shoot and ended up being tricked into signing an unfair purchase agreement for an over priced portfolio. They use pressurised selling techniques, and tell you to make the decision there and then or they'll delete the pictures. I have paid a £1000 deposit and they have taken my bank details to take £1375 more. The purchase agreement says I will not even receive any pictures until the full amount is paid and there is no evidence to say that I will receive any pictures if I do pay the full amount. Please be careful
